Steven Pontikes
Steven was born, raised and educated in Chicago, Illinois. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978 from the University of Chicago, where he was named a member of Phi Beta Kappa in 1976 in recognition of his academic achievement. While at the University of Chicago he was named an Abram Harris Scholar. Steven received his Juris Doctorate from Northwestern Law School in 1982. He received a scholarship from the Hellenic Bar Association to further his legal studies. Steven Pontikes has given various lectures, including presentations on risk management for the Illinois Casualty Associates and has been invited to speak on medical malpractice issues by various insurance organizations. He has also lectured extensively on case management and organization to nationally known insurance companies. He has been awarded for working with students at Chicago public high schools where he taught trial techniques and career choices in law. Steven has authored articles pertaining to trial skills. His publications include “The Illinois Structural Work Act: A Primer” (1988) and “Case Management and Organization” (1996). Steven Pontikes is a member of the Illinois Association of Trial Lawyers, as well as the Chicago, Illinois and American Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois and has had trials in the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Seventh Circuit Federal Appellate Court. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. |
